Passion

“A year from now you may wish you had started today.” — Karen Lamb

Likewise, a year from now, you will wish you would have put more time into your passion project. A year from now, you will likely not be where you want to be…

Let that sink in for a bit.

If you don’t want the above statements to ring true, then you have to get started on your passion project immediately. You have to make time for the things you love when it comes to your work, or the work you rather be doing.

If you aren’t where you want to be in life — for example, if you are working at a dead-end job, or simply a job you hate, no matter how much money it pays — then you have to make the necessary changes to get yourself out of that situation. No one can do it for you.

Therefore, now is the time to put more time into your passion project. This passion project could be writing that novel you have always wanted to write, creating a side business or anything and everything, really. The best part? There are plenty of ways to add more time into your day for the things you love, for your passion project.

The easiest way is by working on your passion before work in the morning, or after work at night. If you are one of those folks who puts in 60-plus hours of work a week, then the thought of putting in work before or after your day job might sound like a nightmare. To those people, we say this: You don’t have to work for hours on end when it comes to your passion project. A little bit here and there (such as 30 minutes every morning) is so much better than doing nothing at all.

For example, if your passion is to write a book, then you are better off writing for 30 minutes a day than simply saying you will write when you have time. The more you push it off … the more you push it off.

If you write 30 minutes every morning, you will eventually have a finished book. It might not be in a couple of months, or even a year, depending on your word-count goal, but it will eventually get done.

Passion

There will never be a perfect time to get started, so if you want a better life, a better job or you simply want to work on some form of a passion project, then you have to get started now. There are 24 hours in a day, and you need to use every single one wisely if you plan on becoming the person you were meant to be.

Therefore, if you are spending your free time watching TV, going out with your friends on the weekend or anything along those lines instead of making your goals and dreams come true, then you rather watch TV and hang out with your friends on the weekend than chase your dreams. We aren’t trying to knock TV time and hanging out with friends, because that time is valuable, and everyone needs downtime, but if you aren’t getting any closer to finishing your passion project/making your goals and dreams come true, then there is a serious problem, and you should evaluate the way you spend your time.

Put more time into your passion project, whether you are an entrepreneur, business owner or simply someone who is wanting to chase his/her dreams.

Get started now, because a year from now, you will wish you had started today.
